Though scientifically less advanced than some other factions, the humans of the United Empire are an eager and adaptable people. Their interest is in control and conquest, generally through corporations designated by the Emperor.

Their knowledge and understanding of the Endless is fairly limited; they have discovered traces of the past but view that civilization as an unsolved mystery. Certain groups within the faction, however, view the Endless with an almost mystical/religious fascination.

The United Empire is relatively new to space flight; they have had little experience outside their home system and at the beginning of Endless Space are preparing their first great steps across the void.
